Brillux Sk-Schutzfolie, blau 1571 100m x 125mm
Self-adhesive PE protective film for time-saving masking. For protecting exterior surfaces over a long period of time against mechanical stress, dirt and many chemical influences.
- Good ageing and UV resistance of the acrylic adhesive
- When properly applied, residue-free removal is possible within 6 weeks at >+5 °C
- Never pull off the protective film jerkily when removing
- particularly suitable for covering window surfaces and sills when coating facades with plasters, paints, primers and hydrophobic coatings, as well as for cleaning facades.
In order to avoid mass residues, chemical reactions and discolouration, it is generally recommended to carry out a trial application on an inconspicuous area for at least 48 hours. This should always be carried out on plastic surfaces (especially PVC types) and nitro coatings. Masking and subsequent removal of adhesive tapes should be carried out at temperatures > +5 °C. Immediately after the paint has dried, the masking tape should be removed evenly away from the edge of the paint. Prerequisite for good adhesive contact are clean, solid and load-bearing surfaces, which must be free of dust, oil, grease and moisture. - For wooden surfaces, sufficient splitting strength is important to avoid fibre tears. - Coatings should be tested for load-bearing capacity and strength, e.g. by scratch test, cross-cut test or adhesive tape test. - On anti-adhesive surfaces, e.g. silicone sealants or profiles, Teflon, polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE), the adhesive strength of painter's masking tapes is limited. - Due to environmental influences, PVC plastics become brittle over time, the plastic surface is destroyed and becomes microporous. If necessary, such surfaces should be fully masked with suitable adhesive tape. This does not prevent discolouration, but the changes are not so obvious. - In the case of poorly compacted anodised and aluminium surfaces, mass residues may occur after removing the adhesive tape; adhesive tape should only be used after prior test application. - Discolouration or chemical reactions may occur on natural and artificial stone as well as copper, zinc and lead, therefore these surfaces should be protected from contact with the adhesive mass with masking masks.
