The wallpaper shows a pattern of different ferns. The pattern was designed by the textile artist Joseph M. Doran and acquired by GP & J Baker in 1935. The design was based on botanical drawings published between 1777 and 1798 in Curtis' "Flora Londinensis", which listed plants from a ten-mile radius around London. It was used in many prestigious homes around the world and admired by the famous interior designer Elsie de Wolfe, whose clients included the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, the Vanderbilt family and Cole Porter.
The product is produced on a high quality non-woven backing. This makes it very easy to apply: The wall is pasted and the panels are glued directly onto the wall.
