The wallpaper features a pattern of lotus leaves and blossoms and kingfishers. This durable original from GP & J Baker was created exclusively for the company in 1915 by British textile designer William Turner. Turner was inspired by a Ming Dynasty painting on a silk panel in the British Museum for the design, which depicts a kingfisher surrounded by stylised lotus leaves. This stunning design was redrawn for screen printing in 1978 and has been a regular feature in the G P & J Baker range for over 100 years.
The product is produced on a high quality non-woven backing. This makes it very easy to apply: The wall is pasted and the panels are glued directly onto the wall.
